P123.5B makeover: NAIA builds terminals 4 and 5 to handle 76M flyers

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC), the private consortium operating the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), is building two new passenger terminals as part of its multibillion-peso plan to modernize the Philippines’ main international gateway.

NNIC general manager Angelito Alvarez said NAIA handled about 51 million passengers in 2024—far exceeding its original design capacity of 32 to 34 million annually. With air traffic projected to rise further, Alvarez said the airport is targeting to accommodate 54 million passengers in 2025.
